Another Round of Animal Portraits

Back again,

I’ve become a zoo member and thought I’d head out to the nearby open range zoo near Melbourne to play with a 500 mm zoom lens.  A heavy bugger, and I’m fitter for the experience. The weather was a little dark so hi sensitivity was needed to use fast shutter speeds, even though I did take a tripod. Sadly the lack of light made follow focussing difficult for the camera to track moving beasts, so only static subjects worked out.

There were some Lion Cubs I was wanting to see and managed to get a nice intimate shot of the mother with one of the cubs.

Click on the pic for the gallery of some other subjects.
